These are pictures of the prototype Garfish that Xicorr will be producing very, very soon. A few enhancements have been added. No more second crown for the Helium Escape Valve (HEV), now has an auto-HEV and the production models will have black bezels.

Enjoy the awesome pics!

2 things to point out:

1 - The size is AWESOME. While I liked the Garda quite a bit, it was rather small This one looks amazing!
2 - Check our the incredible case back engraving and detachable lug-system.

I think this one will be a real winner! I can't wait to see it in the metal... STAY TUNED! SOON!!!!!

Fabien Cousteau’s DOXA Mission 31 SUB Enters History Books as World’s Newest True Adventure Watch!

MIAMI, FL: July XX, 2014: The DOXA Mission 31 SUB became the newest member of the authentic adventure watch club when Fabien Cousteau emerged from the water at the conclusion of the historic Mission 31, with the watch on his wrist. The DOXA Watch Company was selected to provide all the official timepieces for Cousteau’s Mission 31 team. The 31-day underwater mission set a new submersion record for oceanic exploration.

DOXA Watches of Switzerland commemorated the mission by manufacturing a 331piece limited edition of their legendary orange faced SUB watch; this limited edition DOXA Mission 31 SUB is now available to the mainstream market. It is the exact same watch worn by Cousteau’s team and promises to be an instant collector’s item. The 331 piece edition bears a special dial commemorating this historic event. Each watch will come with a certificate personally signed by Cousteau and 25% of the proceeds will support Mission 31. Watch numbers 1-31 were worn by the Aquanauts and most of the series has already been acquired. Watches 32-331 are now available.

The first 31 were given to the Cousteau team and spent 31 days underwater with them. The remaining 300 in the series are now available directly from DOXA. Video of Cousteau presenting these watches to his team can be found here:

“We chose the mechanical DOXA dive watch for its reliability during this 31 day long saturation dive. Today’s dive computers have no algorithm programmed in to calculate such a long dive and would likely lock up, becoming useless. The DOXA is not only water resistant to 1000 meters, it is designed to move easily from a wet to a dry environment with none of the o-ring issues that are a bane to electronic components at depth,” says Fabien Cousteau.

The limited edition DOXA Mission 31 SUB is a modern white titanium cased version of the popular DOXA watch that was worn by Fabien’s father, Jean Michel Cousteau and his grandfather, Jacques Cousteau. It is powered by an ETA 2824-2 automatic Swiss movement, housed in a striking 44mm case that is water resistant to 1000 meters. It has a ratcheting dive extension, AR- coated Sapphire crystal and special commemorative face.

Available directly from DOXA for $2890.

About DOXA watches:

In 1967 DOXA created "orange mania" by introducing the world’s first orange-faced dive watch equipped with a patented no decompression dive table bezel. The DOXA SUB was issued to the Swiss Elite dive troops, German and Korean Navy, and also to the U.S. Navy Sealab Aquanauts in the late sixties and early seventies. The DOXA Sub was Dr. Clive Cussler’s choice for his best-selling Dirk Pitt® action-adventure novels and has been worn by members of the Cousteau family and Ocean Futures team, among other professional divers and underwater explorers www.doxawatches.com/mission31
