Magrette Maona Pacific Diver - UPCOMING REVIEW

Introduction from the Magrette website:

NEW MOANA PACIFIC DIVER
The Fifties is my favorite era when it come to anything mechanical, that's why it was important for me to do a 1950's style diving watch with a slight modern twist. The case and bezel design reflects the simple classic look from the past while the dial design has the recognized Magrette look and feel. I think the mix integrates very well to give a timeless look and feel in it's own right.

Some features include brushed/polished case finish, thick double domed sapphire crystal, C3 Super Luminova hands and dial, water-resistant to 500m/1650ft.

The engine of this timepiece is a self-winding movement (MIYOTA 8215). It is reliable and accurate and is a very durable movement. The Moana Pacific Diver is finished off with a textured leather strap that has red stitching. We also supply a black rubber strap as an inclusive item.

This is all packaged together in our signature vintage style roll case made from high grade New Zealand canvas. We use our eco pine boxes for shipping which ensures extra protection

NEW colors for TechnoMarine Cruise Sport

From press release:

TechnoMarine is pleased to introduce a new color to the Cruise Sport range of watches—chocolate brown accented with rose gold PVD. Water resistant up to 200m and available in a chronograph or 3-hand style, the Cruise Sport excels on a diving expedition or aboard a speedboat, but, thanks to its sleek profile, can just as smoothly blend with boardroom attire. Available for the first time in brown, this new, warmer look brings some heat to the crisp fall months.

A feature of all Cruise Sports, the soft silicone straps and case-covers are removable and can be interchanged with different colors.

Cruise Sport Chocolate 40mm 3-hands US$425; 40mm chronograph US$525. An additional strap (white) is included.

Not a bad combo, I quite like them!

Prometheus Ocean Diver GMT - 1st IMPRESSIONS!

Two things struck me when I opened the box; the perfect dial symmetry of the dial and the strap. The latter was not very positive, but that all changed when I put it on. This watch actually FEELS like a dive watch. I am not too sure if it is the extreme suppleness of the strap, the extra length or the fact that I can wear it snug, but still feel comfortable. It just feels like a real tool!

Here are some quick pics:

I have to say, the finish is quite spectacular. I have owned both a Sinn U1 and UX, the bead-blasting finish is on par with those watches and the Prometheus is a 1/3 of the price of those two remarkable divers.

Much more when I complete my review, STAY TUNED!!!

Ball Aviator GMT - 1st IMPRESSIONS!

What an incredible watch! When I first saw the Master II Aviator series from Ball, I honestly thought they were just redialed Fireman watches. I WAS SO WRONG! Look at the curves on that case! It keeps in line with all the other Master II cases, except it has pilot watch proportions. Excellent execution!

Here are some quick pictures:

And of course, the obligatory LUME SHOT:

Three quick observations. 1) The strap is a lot more refined then I expected and I just love the buckle. 2) The crown action is spectacular and the winding threads are internal, which I prefer. 3) Gained 1 second in the last 30 hours... NOT BAD!

So far, me LIKEY VERY, VERY MUCH!!!
